Baby J hasn’t got to the walking or crawling stage yet. Sitting, she can do. Anyway, why bother with all that when you can ride a horse? Here she is at Giba Gorge trying out Jet before her sister goes on an outride. She loved the larger horses, too, and wanted to kiss one. I would have thought the little thing would have felt overwhelmed, but not so.
Young R has been nagging for a ride, and really enjoyed this one. She says she is training to ride a dragon, as Immy did. (Talking of the Immy stories, I find that after several Royal Command readings, R has a number of bits committed to memory and jumps in ahead of the reading to announce them. ‘He was as good as his word’ is a case in point, and she adores the ‘A dragon like me, perhaps?’ line.)
I was highly frustrated going to the horse scene today and not being able to get on board one. Still, the hisnia-patcher was adamant that such exercise would not be a good idea until after about two months. That’ll give the scar tissue time to do a firm gluing job on the patches. I want to give the repair every chance, so shall do as he says. With great reluctance and impatience.

She will be hard-pressed not to follow the examples of grandfather, mother, and sister. Or she may decide it is a mug’s game, like daddy!.

My two don’t like horses. They screamed blue murder.

What fun – would there be much difference between riding a horse at speed and a dragon – it sounds like R has a good idea. Hope the next couple of months speed ny so you can enjoy riding soon

I am repeating a theme in another of my books here, where riding dragons leads to skill in riding horses!
I do, too!

It is wonderful for children to get used to big animals too, Col. And horses understand children – well, most of them, lol! Glad to hear you are listening to the doc. 🙂

Our children and grandchildren have had to get used to all manner of beasties – as I did in my youth. Passed down in the genes and in practice both, I suppose!

Lovely pictures: and glad to know things are healing well. It’s also good to hear the Immy stories are getting the exposition they deserve 😀

I really had to use willpower not to clamber onto a horse and jiggle my insides, but it would be silly to place the repair in jeopardy. Very gratifying when a simple tale like that seems to hit the spot!
