NATIONAL PRIDE IN AFRICA

Excellent take on the theme Col. I love lions, being one myself. Have a great weekend.

*nervously* I take that to mean in horoscope; not literally? Or is it that Rotary-type organisation?

So true, Col, especially the last verse!

Hi Col, I loved your interpretation of the theme. The lions bring a new dimension to it.

The pride thing rather invited them, though, didn’t it?

Aaah…the begging bowl of Africa….it will never stop until the rest of the world stops ALL aid permanently. You have to be cruel to be kind and Africa has to learn to stand on it’s own two feet.

Unfortunately, Africa still trades on this rather silly guilt complex the ‘developed’ nations have.
For some reason, I can’t link back to return the visit. Drat!

I fear you may be stuck with it, now, unless you close the blog and open another. It says one can’t change the name.

no man!! dont know what PRIDE i have left lol, i receive every single blooming message that you receive… and it feels as though im proof reading your comments….. i obviously pressed something i shouldnt have. Me thinks its safer to stick to blogland and wait patiently for you to unmaybe yourself and show your ‘face’ there again… hint hint, nudge nudge….
I know familiarity breeds contempt but this is ridiculous lol. Like lions, i stick together with my family,….. no matter what palookas they are.. and on the plus side, i know how to comment in whose blog and not feel like a stalker reading all comments that dont belong to me. Enjoy your eve mister. Jajaja have a good ol grin. Some wimmin!!

Hmmm … this doesn’t give me the option of another reply, but maybe this is the way to do it…mutter…mutter…
I’m sorry, I can’t tell you which buttons to push to stop getting the whole kitchen sink. I am still getting lost here myself!

elo. I found you. “Aints she sweet, see her walking down the street,…” ok, i read Dinx’s “stuff” on here. Must figure out how all this works and if its easier for me to come on here.
As for the lions, beautiful creatures need not say a word, they ooze appeal and character…

I was kinda wondering who that was! I have got my avatar on my personal page but it refuses to appear in comments so I’m not much help.

I think pride in yourself is part of national pride, achieving as part of the team is a great boost to one’s self esteem

I suppose, too, it all depends on what nation one is proud of. One of the things I don’t like about ‘contract’ players in top sport.

Hi, colonialist – I love the play on words! I’m glad to find your blog after your visit to mine. I’ll be back.

Thanks for return visit! Not much on this blog, as yet, but I’m getting there slowly.

Ok…copying my reply on my post didn’t work too well and I don’t see an edit button!!!

Well, you won’t have to miss them anymore Col!
Are you still figuring out your avatar?
On Monday I will send you a list of instructions that Cindy kindly did for us.
Useful tips.
I see some people STILL do not understand the issues at LD.
Think I made a couple of new enemies with my comment!!!
I like the additions of the lions!

I put my avatar in yesterday but it doesn’t seem to have taken yet.
Thanks for that!
Yes, it seems some people simply can’t read. If you did, too bad. They asked for it.
I had to be a bit different with my ‘pride’ interpretation!
LikeLike
I wish I could understand why selfpride are more important than the pride you are suppose to have in your job, your country or your integrity.
LikeLike
Though, properly applied, the last three should lead to the first, shouldn’t they?
LikeLike
Very true – but without the last three it just becomes an ego thing. Kinda sounds familiar huh?
LikeLike
Even there, one has to qualify it. The integrity is a given. The pride in job might be out of one’s control, and one can’t have pride in a country if that country isn’t in the least bit admirable. ‘My country right or wrong’ was one of the stupider slogans.
