REALLY AWFULLY STIRRING…

With the side view theme being ‘Twas The Week Before Christmas, this stirring tale comes to you as my first venture into Foodie blogging. Do you think I should switch to those?

Twas
the week
before Christ-
mas, and all through
the house Not a creature
was stirring, except for my
spouse;    She had Christmas
  cake-mix  put  into  a  bowl,
In stirring it up she applied heart
and soul;   From Delia Smith was the
recipe tried,   With some variations on
what went inside:   In absence of brandy,
       thought     sherry     would    do;
 Replacing  molasses  with syrup  tried,  too;
And  then,  in  the  oven,  a four-hour  cook
Was better in three,  in  her own cooking-book;
A needle-test proved that her judgment was right –
 An   absence  of  goo  was  a  most  pleasing  sight!
She reasoned that not to have checked would be wronger–
 It  would   have  got  burnt if  left in  for  much longer
So now just
 the icing
has still got
 to come –
  I trust
  she won’t
season that icing with rum!
