What time are you getting off work, dear cop?
Please join us in robbing a bank,
As well as to hold up a jewell’ry shop,
A good share we’ll give, you to thank;
It is as absurd
As I’ve ever heard
To say you can live on your pay;
And so, when you can,
We’ll do a cash-van
A so-much-more lucrative way!

 Police, if they’re risking their lives all day
Should get far more helpings of cash,
Of course, taking bribes is a lovely way
To get extra loot from the trash;
But riches you’ll gain
With even less strain
By using the tools of your trade:
A far better scheme,
Join our winning team –
Your pistol, and you’ve got it made!

  1. Don’t know the background to this but the satire comes through loud and clear….
