This picture of Skink and Mole was posted on 24.com blogs on 28th February, 2007 as the first one I managed to get right. The two are still very much around – in more ways than one, because they have both grown a lot more rotund in the four years that have followed.

The discovery of my four-year Bloggiversary on the other forum has given rise to some thoughts, discoveries and decisions. The main decision is to cool it considerably on blogging for a while.

I observe that in those heady early days I was posting about three times a day, and keeping up with visits and responses based on at least four times the current activity on my blogs. I also managed a fairly active business and social life, as well as squeezing in writing and composing.

At present, for reasons that completely escape me, if I blog even at the current far less active levels I find that other things – most significantly novel writing – seem to get bypassed. This is not good. A writer who doesn’t regularly come up with new material becomes about as memorable as last week’s dinner. There is a limit on the time the leftovers will remain fresh enough to serve.

Thus, I have decided to concentrate for a while on getting my works-in-progress, which have now remained in progress for a startling number of years without significant progress, to progress. Only as a reward for good progress will I progress back into Blogworld – at least to keep in touch.

So this is a kind of au revoir.

    Unfortunate but necessary.
Blogging has had to take a back seat with me too.
Best of luck with the novels

    Hi Col,

I understand that, which is why I don’t blog that much myself these days, but your wit will be sorely missed so please don’t stay away too long, and good luck with the progress of the progress in the first instance and the progression of the progress in the second *grin*

Best of luck, Col. I fully understand.
