That we can kill
The secrecy bill
You need to have little doubt;
All those who opposed
May well be supposed
To have most financial clout
Quite far in excess
Of those who say ‘Yes,’ –
That crooked minority,
Who have for backing
Dupes, in the majority;
So, right from the day
The law comes in play
All taxes must go to trust
Thus none of these flows
To government goes –
Those MPs will soon go bust!
Too many for route
Whereby prosecute,
There’d simply be no recourse,
If it was soon found
That we stood our ground
No matter if they tried force;
And then everyone
Could have greatest fun
In spreading out all the news
The board should decide
To be classified
From overseas media views
In emails galore,
And blogs by the score,
Could be disseminated;
In SMS, too,
And leaflets, ‘tis true,
All news they want abated;
And media here
Would soon get in gear
And break the disgraceful law –
To close them all down,
Gov’d look like a clown,
So it would come more and more!
Thus, if we permit
This secrecy bit,
There can be no ifs or buts
That the only way
They would win the day
Is if we display no guts.

    the worst part is they think we don’t see through them!

    Wonderfully expressed sentiment, Col! I am as embarrassed by this government as I was by the previous one!

  3. Tilly Bud says:

    Cheering for you from the sidelines. This bill is disgraceful.

    • colonialist says:

      Indeed. It isn’t even funny. Simply moronic. And for those who are supposed to be running the country to waste time on such idiocy really sticks in my craw. They neglect important issues while they live the good life and try to cover their backs.
