Where is complaints department for
The quality of days?
They’re not long-lasting as before,
No, not in any ways!
No sooner, now, has one begun,
And I start doing stuff,
Than that I find its course is run
When I’ve not done enough!
My ‘dones’ are getting fewer while
The ‘to-dos’ just increase –
Days used to be turned out in style,
Why did that have to cease?
It’s just like all the groceries
That come in smaller packs –
Though prices rising, too, one sees,
To put up all our backs!
I want, of time, a proper line
To come with days again,
And if I do not get it, fine!
I’m going to complain!
I spent the best part of the day in wrestling with getting the printer to accept a simple newsletter: an A4 fold-over to produce four A5 pages. You see, for my sins, I recently got voted on as one of the Garden Judges Committee members. As if that wasn’t bad enough, Sr-i-L became President, so she expects me to be the tame IT and Word specialist.
All went well with formatting and layout until it came to actual printing. I instructed the wretched machine to print pages 4 and 1 on the front and 2 and 3 on the back, and it obliged – but in half A5 size! No sensible alterations of settings would persuade it that my doc was formatted in A5 and that A5 was what I wanted.
Finally, after not much hair remained to tear, I found that if I told it to scale to A4 it would come into line. What the heck! I’d already told the horrible little brute that the paper was A4. Oh, well …
I recently saw MacGregor having a love-attack on Annie, but by the time I got the camera it was too late for the real action. When I recall how dog-hating-and-fearing Mac was for simply months and months after we rescued him from Umhlanga, I do find it quite heartwarming.

I definatlely think our days are getting shorter and technology is getting tougher. I use the humble TV as an example, years before you could buy one, take it home, plug in and watch. Now it’s a case of take it home, call a specialst to install, hope you can remember the instructions to switch it on, and pray the remote only has a maximum of 5 buttons – which are clearly marked!

I LOVE THIS!!! We are still in sync! Of course you know that I have a couple of changes to this poem. . .can’t help myself! This one should be included, definitely.
Now a far as the terrific photo of your dog and cat – it is wonderful! We have not had any problem with our menagerie over the years. If the cats don’t want to be around the dog/s, they just go elsewhere. Ditto with the dogs – although our current dog Princess gets very jealous of our attention, and if she sees Justin on one of our laps, she jumps up and insinuates herself between Justin and us. Justin usually just gives up and jumps off, but sometimes we are stuck with this huge load on our laps – a larger-than-lap-size dog and an overweight cat soon put your legs to sleep. Justin and Princess will play sometimes, and it is sort of funny to watch them tussle with one another – all very good natured-ly. But when they are done, they are most definitely done!
Wish you had a photo of the “booty call,” at least I think I do!
TTYL, and enough. . .

I dashed this one off in an awful hurry, and after reading it over two changes screamed out to me to be made. Duly done.
Hope you find and show thgat photo!
I was worried about Mac for quite a while – I thought he was never going to integrate with the Pooch Pack. It just took a lot of time and patience.

I find that the hours between lunch and dinner/supper are getting shorter.
The longer in the tooth we get, the shorter the days get 😉
Love the two friends.
