From the latest set of teasers by Pink Polka Dot Food.
1. Where is the dish Vindaye a traditional dish?
Vin is French for their staple diet, wine, consumed every daye, so it must be France.
2. What are the main ingredients of a classic French Sabayon?
Uh, is that as opposed to a jazz Sabayon, or a pop Saybayon?
3. What is Ochazuke and from which country?
This is a dish prepared from zukes, and done in Scotland where the arrival of the dish to the table has a ceremony like the piping in of the haggis. Only, for this one, they exclaim, ‘Och, a zuke!’
4. What type of dish is Pasha and when is it normally eaten?
This is prepared from the Pasha-nut, and is taken before a night of lovemaking. Maybe it has something to do with Turkish Delight, too, because of the Pasha bit being an Ottoman Ruler. That ties in with the first bit, too, because an ottoman is a couch.
5. What is a “silk squash” better known as?
A too-tight silk nighty over large boobs.
6. What is Crostatas?
This has to be annoyed farewells. Oh, wait a minute, this is a food quiz, right? So what are annoyed are potatoes.
7. What is Sunflower greens?
Fields of Sunflowers before they have flowered. After that they are Sunflower yellows.
8. What differentiates a “Pot pie” from another pie?
The other pie doesn’t have dagga in it.
9. What are the main ingredients of the spice “bzar” (or bezar)?
Lotsa weird stuff. That’s why it is bizarre.
10. What plant does tapioca come from?
Tapioca comes from a Yucca. Otherwise known as a Cassava or Manihot esculenta. (Hey, I’m a Garden Judge, after all!) That explains why I personally find it so yucky. In my youth I was convinced that it was eyes taken from frogs or fish.
Love it!
