LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION! STARTING A MODELLING CAREER AT AN EARLY AGE …

Having just turned one, Jeneva has become a working girl.

Intrigued by some Agency ads, Younger Daughter took her for a couple of auditions a month or so ago, and after charming everyone in sight young J was duly signed up. Hordes were present, so that was quite an achievement.

Today, she had her first assignment.

She handled it with great professionalism.   Everyone went dilly over her, and she eagerly carried out everything she was asked to do. The only time she wasn’t too happy was when placed in the company of other young models. Professional jealousy?

Talking of jealousy, though, when I consider how many books I would need to sell to make the same amount of money she has added to her bank account in just one morning of – well, for her, it was fun rather than work, from all appearances – I do get rather depressed!

And now, talking of books, I have just completed a preliminary placement of the final illustrations for Immy Goes Riding, and am utterly thrilled. One needs a tiny bit of adjustment, but all the others are simply brilliant. I mean, just look at this one of Fernis the dragon after having snacked on some bothersome goblins. Isn’t he lovely?

The rest of my day was taken up with completing the edit/print job, and tomorrow will be the event. When that is over, maybe, just maybe, I can get back to visiting and answering comments instead of just frantically scribbling daily posts in five seconds flat … ?

It will be interesting how she appears in the ads.
I wish you could see all the illustrations of Fernis – they are all charming. Even when he wanted to barbecue and devour Immy!

  6. I love the picture! Did you do the drawing? Fantastic! Congrats to beautiful Jeneva – she’ll have enough money for college when she’s ready! I have told Matt and Suddie to try to do the same thing with Zoë – she is also a photographic charmer – always happy, especially if she is in the spotlight!

Speaking of getting back on schedule, I have one more major thing to do, and then I will be back in “collaborative” form. I was wondering. . .it has been very hard for me to choose poems – both yours and my own. Would you give me just the names (if you’ve already sent them, I have the rest) of your 25 favorites – the ones you are most proud of. Doesn’t matter if they are humorous or not. I will do the same for you, if you like. Believe it or not (and if I were you I would understand why you don’t!), I have actually got the limericks almost polished and ready for inspection! I also believe that some of my more recent efforts might be worth of consideration. I also think that if we have 50 poems plus illustrations, it would be a good and affordable length, but I am open to a larger or a smzller volume.

I’m excited about the development of Immy’s adventures. . .hope it turns out just the way you envisioned it!

No, the drawings are done by another blogger living in Spain. Footloose. Wish I could draw like that!
Let’s hope Jeneva can continue to get these assignments – usful for the future, as you say! Good idea for Zoë to be listed, too.
My thought is that 50 will be too few by far. I think 200 is feasible. A lot depends on how we set them out, of course.
The Immy project pushed a lot of other things aside, but it shouldn’t take too long now.
