MERRY POPOUTS WITH BROLLY AVIATION – REALLY AWFUL RHYME

I’ve just watched a movie wot gave us a thrill,
It was quite remarkably inter-lek-chill,
Our TV decoder has packed in, you see,
And thus we were watching an old DVD. 

In this, Julie Andrews appeared as the lead,
And her Mary Poppins was lovely, indeed!
Rhiannon has packed all her clothes and her toys,
And all of the games which she really enjoys. 

Then grabbed an umbrella which she hopes to fly –
And that the thing should not, I do not know why –
It takes Mary P most magnificently,
So why should it be it will not her and me? 

We gave it a try-out, right at the front door,
But, sadly, this brolly won’t fly any more;
Said R, ‘Take it down and we’ll give it a rest;
To try again later is probably best!’ 

So if, perchance, I disappear from the scene,
Be sure that my absence will most likely mean
That, with my granddaughter, I’ve floated away
Beneath an umbrella, for quite a long stay! 

P.S. Her granny was in fits of laughter at the piles of belongings that had been gathered ready for the trip. I told R an umbrella probably wouldn’t lift them all, so she suggested we go by car instead.

She and I went to the beach today – the first time for ages that the path has been in a fit state to allow her access.  I am glad I have been restored to full jungle-hacking condition.  I have yet to take her sister down, though.
