A cold front leaves one with a lack
Of warmth, not only front, but back;
Though frontal is their main attack,
A chilly backhand punch they pack!
And one can get a cold back, too,
When it has turned into the ‘flu.

It seems that we must bear the brunt
Of yet another freezing front;
Or, back the same front may have come –
That’s back to front, and really dumb!
To cause affront is what they do;
Take one aback’s what they do, too!

I would not back the weatherman
To get it right, his weather scan
Is just a front for selling ads –
To get one’s own back on such cads,
When out in front with all their fads,
One backs out coldly, in reverse,
To give, up front, a hearty curse.

    Sorry you are not enjoying the wintery weather Col, there is a storm raging here in Cape Town but we are not complaining as the rain is filling up the dams that badly need the water to get us through the summer without water restrictions.

      So a dam nuisance is also a dam necessity! Yes, water restrictions are a pain. Perhaps we should go back to collecting our own supplies from rooves etc. It worked when I was a boy.

    Cape Town is in for a battering this weekend. And with all the sneezing and germs going around, I think the whole of CT will be on sick leave next week

    I hope the promised cold front for the weekend will be winter’s end as I am close to going round the bend.

  9. granny1947 says:
