The thought that ‘All the world’s a stage’
Must our attention now engage,
If that is so, it would seem that
A very silly stage we’re at –
The actors mess up half the set,
And haven’t got their lines down, yet.
Whoever casts most of the leads
One can’t say he or she succeeds
In choosing right ones for each part –
They simply don’t know where to start
And make, on stage, an awful botch
Which is embarrassing to watch.
Most bit-parts, one may notice, too,
Are filled by those without a clue;
The ones with speaking roles sound lame,
And singing ones sound much the same,
(With speaking parts, it always seems
The women have them to extremes).
The lighting simply isn’t clear
Throughout a good part of the year,
And as for quality of sound,
One really needs to search around
To find somewhere acoustics are
Improved; I mean, improved by far!
The costumes used to be quite good,
But they’re not looking as they should,
It should be cause for great alarm
How lacking they’ve become in charm,
And makeup artists we’ve now got?
It seems the lot have lost the plot!
‘All World Production’, I confess,
Has ended up an awful mess;
Box-office-wise, not a success;
Thus it is – which is, I guess
Something which is sure and certain –
Overdue for final curtain!

This is absolutely brilliant, Col. I don’t know about the lighting, but we certainly have an awful lot of ‘light-fingered’ politicians and their cronies. 😦

A new production is required
Of this one we’re getting rather tired!
(that’s all I can think of this early in the morning)

This is dreadfully clever, Col . . . if a bit doomsdayish. 😉
