“Those that survive”

To tell the sorry tale

How they arrive

At human race’s fail:

Taking this earth

So full of what is fair,

Adding no worth

But raping what is there,

Surely will find

In humans was the seed – 

Each selfish mind

 Obsessed with its own need –

Breeding to fill

 Each individual lust,

 Lacking the will

 To limit where they must,

Those that survive

 To count up all the cost

 Won’t stay alive –

 They, too, will be lost.
