It follows snappy folly ways
To wish one Happy Holidays!
Well-meaning prissy folk, you see,
All striving to be so PC,
Are simply following a lead
For which should be no slightest need.

Would I object should someone say
They wish me Happy Grinkblump Day?
No, I’d return their wish with thanks
(Regardless if I thought them cranks)
And I’d expect that, in return,
Response to mine in kind I’d earn.

So, ‘Merry Christmas!’ hear me call
Right cheerfully to one and all,
And ‘Happy New Year!’ I will add
(If yours is different, too bad),
I really fail to reason why
My greeting I should modify.

  11. Hey Colonialist… I just came over here, from your comment [my blog]… It doesn’t botter me… my/or family’s greeting card [Snapfish] says Merry Christmas…it’ll come out on the 25th, as a blogpost… the full card.. and we sent it out to a bunch of friends, some of them, responding back with the “Happy Holidays”…. 😮 It doesn’t matter… we’ll have a wonderful Christmas… Whatever people, PC ones would like/prefer to say… I’m pretty comfortable with our Christmas season… so, now: Have a very merry Christmas!!!! 😮

  12. Little R has grown into such a beautiful little pretty Fairy

  13. 68ghia says:

I’m not one for PC – it’s gotten me into many scrapes before 😉
So maybe you have a Blessed Christmas Col, and a very Prosperous New Year 😉
And that goes for the cute little ones, and the cute older ones in your circle as well 🙂

  14. newsferret says:

And best of New Year’s wishes I pass to you,
I am sure with the best we can both do

  15. The Asian says:

    Happy holidays 😛
Like we’ve discussed earlier, the whole PC thing is just plain old stupid. People should just grow a pair and not make such a big fuss over this.
Little R looks adorable in that picture, she must be one of the apples of your eye 🙂

  16. Merry Christmas to you and your family Col. Your little butterfly fairy looks very cute, she reminds me a lot of my little fairy 🙂

  17. Pussycat44 says:

You’re so right! I hate the Happy Holidays trend.
So to you, Col, and all your family, I wish you a
Blessed Christmas and a Happy and Prosperous New Year!
