SPRING: six-word short story; which works best?

Spring
After trying various permutations for the Figments of a DuTchess challenge, it occurred to me I might as well use them all and employ my new poll-cat skill to find out which one has the greatest impact with readers.  The poll, here, takes the place of pictures to accompany each. Please vote for the one you think allows the imagination to tell the fullest story – not necessarily the one you like the most!

Surviving winter, he surrendered in spring.

Yearned for spring – which never came.

Their love blossomed with the spring.

Spring’s renewal finally allowed her acceptance.

Rejection: life’s spring plunged into midwinter.

Spring dragged both, protesting, into joy.

Talking of votes, half the contestants still have to vote in the caption competition, and anyone else is also welcome to do so – the mare the moreier.

I’d go for “Rejection: life’s spring plunged into midwinter”. I think a story could come out of that
