(A SidevieW theme presentation.)

Chameleon’s a lizard who
For lack of speed’s derided,
But then, you see, that it is true
He’s very undecided.

He wasn’t sure which way to look
So he just looked both ways;
In consequence, the route he took
Made him seem in a daze.

The colour he should be, as well,
He can’t make up his mind,
So it’s confusing as all hell
Describing him, you’ll find.

In all things slow except for one –
Like mother-’n-laws, quite frightening –
When opening his mouth is done,
His tongue goes just like lightning!

  1. There’s always a silver lining 🙂

  2. adinparadise says:

Well done, Col. You described it perfectly. Not so sure I like the last stanza though. 🙂

  3. So clever. I love chameleons. Once had one in a plant right outside our offices, in the city!

  4. 68ghia says:

    Quite the description 😉
They are actually quite fascinating creatures!

  5. bulldog says:

Now this was outstanding… what a way to describe a chameleon… right on the button ..perfect.

  6. adeeyoyo says:

Haha, it must be SO frustrating to move so slowly… but, as you say, his tongue makes up for that. Good one, Col.

  7. nrhatch says:

    Quite FUN! Thanks, Col.

  8. Liked the poem – made me smile. Even tho I don’t usually go for mother-in-law gags

You think m-i-l’s are a most unjustly maligned mob? I dunno as much. The nicest ladies can turn into harpies towards the miserable specimen their wonderful offspring selects …

  9. susielindau says:

I hope your mother-in-law doesn’t follow your blog! 🙂 Fun poem!

  10. Pussycat44 says:

As kids we were told that should a chameleon sit on something red, he’d explode 😦

  11. SidevieW says:

is there a colour he SHOULD be? I’m not sure of that

  12. zirkie says:

    Another great rhyme!
