Really Awful Red Rhyme

The NaPoWriMo theme for day 28 is colour.  Hey, I’ve had a colourful day, so I’ll do it in muted shades, and not completely faithful to the prompt …

My Really Awful Rhymes are
Invariably red,
Not green instead;
Just red!
To show my rhyming times are
Most certainly not blue,
No mauve I do,
Nor blue!

It is an imposition
Expecting them in black,
Both pink I lack,
And black!
But maybe superstition
Has made me turn to red:
Perhaps instead
They’re READ!

Another Preview of a Forthcoming Attraction:

There be dragons ...

There be dragons …

Lol Kate 🙂 err, the dragons are lurking/skulking in the bush?

  2. Like the use of color throughout, including type. If you’re going to write a really awful rhyme, I’m glad you chose red. I love the color red! 🙂

  3. Just what I needed, Col; a literary rainbow.

  4. adeeyoyo says:

Oh, yes, dragons in the woods today instead of teddy bears – that would be a good idea – the woods at the bottom of your garden, Col.
If you go out in the woods today
You’re sure of a big surprise.
If you go out in the woods today
    You’d better go in disguise.
For every dragon that ever there was
Will gather there for certain, because
Today’s the day the dragons have their picnic…

  5. Lisaman says:

Orange sounds like a damn fine idea!!

  6. Sonel says:

Love your colourful rhymes Col and I am sure R would help catching the dragons. 🙂

  7. 68ghia says:

Quite the colourful rhyme you got there Col 😉
Eagerly awaiting the first spottage of the dragon…

  8. Pussycat44 says:

    Red and blue
    will always do
but if you want to dance
    I suggest you use “orange”!
