Really Awful Red Rhyme
The NaPoWriMo theme for day 28 is colour. Hey, I’ve had a colourful day, so I’ll do it in muted shades, and not completely faithful to the prompt …
My Really Awful Rhymes are
Invariably red,
Not green instead;
Just red!
To show my rhyming times are
Most certainly not blue,
No mauve I do,
Nor blue!
It is an imposition
Expecting them in black,
Both pink I lack,
And black!
But maybe superstition
Has made me turn to red:
Perhaps instead
They’re READ!

Like the use of color throughout, including type. If you’re going to write a really awful rhyme, I’m glad you chose red. I love the color red! 🙂

Just what I needed, Col; a literary rainbow.

Oh, yes, dragons in the woods today instead of teddy bears – that would be a good idea – the woods at the bottom of your garden, Col.
If you go out in the woods today
You’re sure of a big surprise.
If you go out in the woods today
You’d better go in disguise.
For every dragon that ever there was
Will gather there for certain, because
Today’s the day the dragons have their picnic…

Great take on it. I mean, look at Immy. She went into the woods. Did she find teddy bears? Not a one. Did she find a dragon? For sure! 🙂
