DOES THIS RING A REALLY AWFUL BELL?

Image

So, ‘Should that be there?’
Is the SidevieW theme,
And I do declare
One would hardly dream
(Quite unlike the one
In a garden found)
One would have the fun
To see one around
In the setting where
It was meant to be –
But a little spare
In THIS ship, you see –
(Yes, the one, you’ll mark,
I have shown before
Through agave arc
And from our front door);

Why it doesn’t fit –
To be quite specific –
(Here’s the funny bit)
Ship is scientific!

The Protea was lurking so much on our doorstep that we thought it was the Special Branch spying on evil Colonialists, but a visit to it today showed that it had other things like ocean floor in mind, as well as doing a bit of PR for the Navy.  Many more pics will, hopefully, follow.

I went onto a huge ship with a bookstore when I was a kid. A ship together with lots of books was like a dream come true for me!

  3. There is something spare and clean about the corridor of the ship – except for the beautiful bell. Yes, it’s a good thing that it’s purpose is benign. I’d like to see more photos. 🙂

I’m glad to hear the ship is lurking on the horizon for a genuine reason.

Looking forward to the pics Col – I’ve always wondered how it would feel to sail the seas. Just me and all that water around me 🙂
