MOVE OVER, LION, I WANT TO WATCH TV!

GUESTS WELCOME TO  COME AS FOR DINNER

I very seldom copy emails on my blog, but the one I had forwarded to me today by a pet re-homing friend is exceptional.   It must be a truly amazing experience to stay at this guesthouse.  Could there possibly be a bigger treat for cat lovers?

Annel Snyman, a guesthouse owner in the Waterberg region of South Africa, adopted this young lion cub 8 months ago. Fondly called, “Timba”, the lion not only lives on Annel’s farm, but also sleeps in her bed and cuddles on the couch with her and any house guests present! With a passion for wild animals, Annel applied to the Department of Nature Conservation for a permit to keep and raise them on her farm and since 2009 has hand-reared a cheetah cub, five lions, a white lion, a leopard and six Serval kittens (a medium-sized African wild cat).

Can imagine house training them might be a bother – don’t think a cat box would do the trick 😉

Is the blue eyed kitten a lynx? The Servals are wonderful – crossed with a domestic cat they produce what is known as a Savannah and sell for $30 000! Not sure I approve of this.

I don’t think she has a blog – not sure where the email was originated …
But you have just inspired me to track it down. It is ‘Loebies Guestfarm Lion & Predator Park’ in the Waterberg range at Bela-Bela, Limpopo, South Africa

I haven’t tried that – but maybe having a lion deciding to share one’s bed is overdoing it a bit. One large-ish cat is enough of a problem at the moment – he believes his ration is three-quarters.
