Really Awfully Long-winded with Long-eared Creatures

First of month, my normal habits
Are to utter loudly, ‘Rabbits!’ –
August month has now begun;
Hope you have a happy one.

Here, it gives us lots of wind,
Which is really most unkind,
(Shakespeare really didn’t mind
Rhyming ‘wind’ like that, you’ll find.)

With dis-gust we have to bear
That it gale-ly brings despair:
It’s a blow that we, needs must,
Constantly declare, ‘Aw – gust!’

Hope this rhyme does not divert
Readers whom I’d like to flirt
With my novel post below
So, now,  please thereunto go!

Love the ref to Shakespeare. You know your readers too well, you knew exactly we’d all object very vocally if you didn’t defend yourself! Touchay. (Must show me that Word trick again with the e-ay.) 😉

I couldn’t let readers think I was dropping my pants … er, I mean, my standards!
My trick on Word doesn’t work for ‘Touché!’ – it doesn’t auto-adjust. To get that, one has to go into Symbols under ‘Insert’ there, select the accented letter, put it on a page, and then copy and paste.

I’ve never been a fan of the windy month. It’s really living up to it’s reputation here by us today

Here the folks who have yachts also don’t mind the wind Col and that is what I love about August. Yes, it’s windy but I love watching the yachts on the dam. Great rhyme and post as usual my friend. 😀 *hugs*

Hate to tell you: on the other side of that Indian Pond August and the first three weeks of September bring no peace and joy windwise either: so many nights one wonders whether that beautiful tree up front will finally manage to fall atop us sleeping [eucalypts having a very shallow and small root system!] or the roof itself take flight to meet properties two doors down . . . spring? Not a fave in these parts . . . good luck with yours!!

  8. August is really windy in Queensland as well – in Brisbane they have the annual show/carnival type thing and it was always blowing up a dust storm.

It’s only windy because it’s Women’s Month. Too much hot air??

  12. I agree it’s really awful, but it’s great fun to read. August for us is thunderous.

The wind, much as I don’t enjoy it, has to blow so the rain can come…
It really is the only nature phenomenon that I ever moan about – everything else I can handle, but a gusty wind – not so much!!
