A thing I’m dubious about
Is ‘dubious’ as theme,
Although there can be little doubt
It popular may seem.
In Frank Sinatra style,
Night Stranglers to make furious
At Halloween, a while?
Then, ‘Do-be, or not do-be’ -us,
Is Shakespeare’s little lot –
A question posed to make a fuss
When head-cold you have got!
To speak of which, I do have one:
Was dubious I’d live;
Though loads of Anti-Bs aren’t fun
At least more life they give!
I should consume such things before,
And not self-medicate,
But taking them I do abhor,
So left it rather late.
But though from off our mortal coil
Due, be us, that we go,
Such ABs still the scythe will foil,
And leave us yet on show.
Dew, bee is sure on plants to find
To block his pollen route,
Be sure, though, that bees do not mind,
As through the dew they shoot.
By keeping in a boring rut
I avoid temptation:
Dubious I may well be, but
Not my reputation!

Lots of people down with some malady or another. Hope you’re feeling better.
Love the word-play here. I don’t know of anyone more adept at this kind of thing… 🙂
Loads of antibiotics later, and I’m still battling.
I really do flog them to death, don’t I?
Keep battling and keep flogging!
A great poem as usual. Hope you get better soon!
The part I’m running out of haha for is the ****** cold! It is amazingly tenacious!
My Dad always recommended a swim in the ocean to cure the common cold – hope you get better soon, Col
Thanks – I can see that if you drown or get et by a shark, the cold will be totally cured.
I’ll stick with the blasted antibiotics, thanks!
How many plays on one word can one make, Col?
Let me count the ways.
Masterly. If that is a word.
I did put it through a mangle to extract them, didn’t I?
Too, too clever Col! May be time to make inversions into revisions, if you so desire?
I suggest a lie down in a darkened room
Sounds good to me. Is a blonde laid on?
Can be arranged!
Your dubious diatribe has left me speechless, Col. Get better soon. 🙂
Thanks. I am heartily sick of popping pills!
Are my drug habits rubbing off on you? 😉
Now that your tale is told
hope you don’t really have a cold
Sidey says we should have fun
the prize for puns is one you’ve won.
🙂 Alas, I really do hab a bad code id by dose, and gone to by chest, too! *coff, sniffle, coff, wheeze*
Love the puns but deplore the dubioud poetic inversions!
My inversions are so dubious that I don’t even let the left hand know what the LEFT hand is doing. Works well in music, too. 🙂
Dubious? I doubt it!
you may be dubious, but is it because you DO want to BE US or what?
One’s sanity is very scooby doobeus.. very good.. 😉
I wish I’d thought of that!
Some of us more sane than others, teehee! appreciated..
That writing was so very good
and was completely understood.
You have a cold, now that, is sad
I hope that it is not too bad.
The AB, s should do the trick
Then you will no longer be feeling sick
in meantime rest awhile your head
To keep you warm, tucked up in bed.
Get better soon , and get you well
Then another tale you will tell
I love a kind response in kind!
