SidevieW wants us to bring Perspective into perspective:
Should you have the honour that
You are servant to a cat
Do attend devotedly
To each feline he or she.
Pander to the every whim
Of the kitty her or him;
That their wish is your command
Is what quickly should be larned.
Want inside? Then do be quick
Opening; if they then lick,
In a pause to do their paws,
For impatience, find no cause.
Do not ask why they’ve not tried
Nearby window, open wide,
Just accept this is the way
They have chosen for today.
If they’re wanting to be fed,
Must be now – take that as read!
As a cat-slave, you should see
It must have priority!
And, if they don’t like the taste,
Never mind about the waste.
Find the food, for him or her,
At that moment they pre-fur.
Many beds down for them lay;
Many games to aid their play;
Other pets should not intrude –
Playing with them’s seen as rude!
Should a stroking be desired
They will tell you when they’re tired:
Do not stop until they say,
‘That’s enough for current day.’
Should they do a foolish act,
Showing mirth would not be tact;
Something clever? Then your praise
Fulsomely the roof should raise.
Something you must always do
Is forget your point of view,
Which to nothing much amounts –
Their purr-spective is what counts!

I never used to be a cat person until I looked after a friend’s two, and now I confess to being a bit of a convert, although I still prefer canines, who have such generosity of spirit.
Dogs build one’s self-esteem, but cats are good for taking one down a peg or two!
Anyone who loves a cat is a friend of mine! Thank you for taking time out of your day to visit my site.
I do enjoy your informative posts!
Tomcat Fightback is at the vet’s today having some teeth pulled – the poor lad!
I hope he has recovered well from de-fanging!
Sort of – he is loll oping around feeling sorry for himself
This is why I’m inclined to not own a cat. I’m already somebody’s slave at work an is prefer not to be a slave when I get home!
The difference is that with a cat you get to where you enjoy being dominated! (Ooooh, kinky.)
Very cute. I am my cat’s servant 🙂
Which is as it should be!
no kweschin about that 😆
Purrfect pussycat poem Col 🙂
Should be up on the wall of everyone with cat residents!
truly their puurspective
Which, of course, is the only one that counts!
A wonderful piece of doggerel… about a catty subject – and every word so true !!!
I suppose you could call it catterel? 🙂
Purr-fect purr-spective on the furry beasts that rule the roost. 😀
They are the purr-versest creatures out, so make for a good rhyme! 🙂
I am not a cat person, but I bet my sister would enjoy your poem!
You mean that so far no cat has decided to convert you into one. If they did, you’d have no choice in the matter!
Oh I do! It does not matter how often the stare at me, try to jump on my knees or rub against my legs…. I want none of it!
Oh, that is simply trying to annoy you. They have far more subtle ways of recruiting slaves!
That’s the way ALL pussycats should be treated, even the human ones 😉
Yes, I can imagine the idea would appeal to you enormously!
Purrfect poem for the challenge, Col. I sometimes wish that I was a cat. 🙂
They do know their priorities – ME-ow, ME-ow, and ME-ow! 🙂
If you have one cat, that’s fine
But when there’s three just like mine
They have to learn to share the time
Except when it is time to dine.
then each dish is duly put in place
and each cat eats with mighty grace
We do not ask for much they say
Except, love, and food and a place to lay
But I bet they still want it all like NEEEOW!
they sure do! xxxx
