North or south, or east or west
Homemade Christmas fare is best –
Appetizer: liver pate
(Didn’t take a shot – oh drat, hey? –
My fruit salad, Christmas cake,
Also failed a pic to take;
Homemade gravy on that list,
Cranb’rry jelly also missed); Starter of asparagus
Should have been sufficient fuss,But we also went with prawns –
Nobody such starter scorns!
Then, conventional – not quirky –We tucked into roasted turkey,
And, a well-constructed stuffingTurkey’s chest with pride was puffing;
Roast potatoes, crispy crust,
With the turkey was a must;Brussels sprouts with bacon, nuts;
Sausage, gammon ham abuts;
Done au gratin, cauliflower
Finished off the veggie-power,
And, for those with space left over,Came this great homemade Pavlova;
Tasted good as all this looks –
Compliments to all three cooks!

Wow, this is truly a feast.
Due to Marks problems with eating these days we moved Christmas to January 🙂
Cannot wait for our Christmas dinner …

The two of us were then abandoned with loads of leftovers, but they did not pall after many revisits!

what a delicious looking feast. I must sit down and list what all ours consisted of before I forget. Something to do with oysters, and paté, escargots, smoked trout, roast chicken, and….of course a different wine with each course and, oh yes, champagne with dessert. It’s all coming back to me now!

Pop round for some of the left-overs! They have been left over for our exclusive consumption, as the rest of the fambly has shot off to the Cape.
