Reflection shows that Lovers’ Lane
Bird nearly off has written:
Attracted by a window pane,
Got well and truly smitten!
Mayhap a hen he took it for,
And thus sought to engage her,
But this Bar-bet was not to score –
Nor even a Pub-wager!
This silly twit of a Barbet arrived against our front 
windows with a large bang today, after which he lay on his back and twitched.
I googled and learnt that after a non-fatal window collision one should keep them cool (I put up shade), protected from predators (I covered with a vegetable tray) and not disturb (I left him to it). Other advice was to place in a perforated box, but I thought that would be going against the previous one.
Thirty minutes later he was on his feet, looking groggy.
After another thirty minutes he wanted out with a passion.
I tried to get a pre-departure picture, but this post-departure picture will have to do. That is the certified space where he had been half a second before!

Well done, Col. I’m so glad he survived! I used to keep Rescue drops for such occasions and, with me, it was usually pigeons or doves doing the crashes. I have heard that they have poor eyesight – who knows!

I am happy to relate that for us it is a rare occurrence. Here, though, they are in real danger from predators while incapacitated.

Poor wee bird went with such a plunder
T, is a wonder he ain, t six foot under
but you was good and saved his life
Then he flew home to tell his wife.
As he flew into his nest, his wife was none too happy,
‘where have you been ‘ she asked ‘ its very latei ? Her tweet was none too happy
‘Sorry dear’ the bird replied ‘ my day was rather crappy
I went a banged my head you seeon something they call glass
Then everything went black and I landed on my arse
But Man was good and helped me, and helped to save my life
Then I got up and without delay flew home to my wife
I could carry on but where do I stop so this is enough but you did a good job….
