REALLY AWFUL KENNING FAILURE

The NaPoWriMo prompt for today invites one to try kenning, which is forcing a couple of poor innocent nouns into an illicit relationship in order to have a baby … that is to say, to make another noun. Like using ‘passion product’ instead of ‘baby’, in fact!

Kenning scene

Not kenning what the WordPress scribe has said,
One looks from fire orb, aflame on high,
And meadow carpet, to a rosette bed
Where, therein, show confetti spangles spread,
While powder puffs will drift as spume-silk by,
Above the dragon limbs stretched to the sky,
Leaf fingers clutching, till from sight they’ve fled,
And one can cotton-tails no longer spy …

No, you want double nouns, just go ahead,
I give it up completely; I won’t try!
