There is a steep downhill incline on the way back from the grandkids’ school. It is the custom of 6-yr-old R and 3-yr-old J to treat this as a roller-coaster, and to utter high-pitched screams on the way down. Friday is when we take Peta the School Budgie (that used to be Peter until she laid an egg) home for the weekend as usual, and I told the kids that screams were not allowed as they would startle the bird. I said we could all utter refined, ‘Eeks!’, which we did.
At the bottom I remarked that we had ‘Eeked’ out an existence more quietly than usual.
R responded, ‘It was more “Eek-oh-friendly”.’
I could hardly drive straight, I laughed so much. It wasn’t as if she were repeating one of my puns she’d heard before; this was her own original production.
When I told Much Better Half about it, she gave a groan. ‘Oh, no; not two of you!’
That is FABULOUS, Col! What a great little punster.

We came up with the latest version today. It was that it was more Eek-oh-nomical!

Double cool.
Mum was worried the entire weekend that we had it, three of us, picking it up, chasing it around the garden, over feeding it etc. lol
