… spent barefoot in shorts and a teeshirt …
We were due to visit Sister-in-Law for lunch, but after doing a dive onto concrete over the edge of the stairway to their second floor from halfway up, she didn’t feel like having us. A black eye and possible concussion influenced this decision.
Younger Daughter has a spot of flu, and Much Better Half a sore knee, so the family is not doing well, health-wise.
Anyway, I invited grandkids to come to the beach with me instead – a decision applauded very noisilyby the pooch pack . It was rather a repeat of the day a couple of weeks back when some light aircraft kindly put on a series of loops and rolls right above our heads for our special entertainment. My camera on the mobile phone wasn’t up to it even though I pointed it up to it, and so I have lots of shots of empty sky. Only one of the biplanes showed, distantly departing at speed, but at least that blow-up proves they were there.
Young R was very taken with what she called the ‘Rude Rock’ depicted above. I did not enquire too deeply as to whether she took the protrusions for boobs … or something else!
The only shells I could find intact were a turban and a rock shell. I forgot to take a pic.
The dogs and all of us are really and truly going to miss having this sort of entertainment at the bottom of the garden. Not too much longer, unfortunately.
It is a very beautiful back yard. But each back yard – by very virtue of being a back yard – has its wonders. And I should know, because Britain is full of very small back yards. Land is parcelled out carefully here, as you will know.

What is done with those small patches is often a miracle. And then, one has the compensation of the large parks and estates – long may they survive. Here, the potential of yards is seldom realised.

Glad you’re still enjoying the garden while you have it in your backyard.
I just saw this video and thought it would appeal to you:

A wonderful way to spend some time. Where are you off to from here? Hope it is not too far away from the sea.

Seems like many of us KZN-folk are leaving sea-side for different pastures. You’ll have to organise a mini-MOB before you all go.

Not being able to walk to the beach would be a pain. In fact it is a pain, I am missing it, and it is still just ten minutes (normal) walk away. My sympathies to the injured amongst you. May they improve faster than me!
