For the Weekly Photo Challenge, we have: Humanity.
It takes all sorts, or takes all kinds,
To make a world, is what one finds;
But then, there is a kind of sort
Which, to exist, just didn’t ought.
When trespassers come on my scene,
They wish that they had never been;
I tell them that their photograph
Is sure to give the cops a laugh.
They then lose interest in their scams,
And each one very swiftly scrams;
They dislike images to be
Thus captured for posterity.
Very unsavoury looking characters, Col. Are they two of SA’s most wanted? 😕

All I know is that they were wanting – money, and in general charm – and I indicated to them that they were unwanted!

Be careful you could put yourself in danger if they snatch the camera off you. One good thing about living in a flat you don’t get people just wandering up to your front door.

I also have a tazer at the ready!
We are unusual in that we don’t have an enclosure of prison walls and razor-wired fences.

I meant to say if they want to snatch the camera off you they could get violent. You are joking about the taser? 🙂
LikeLike
Not joking. In South Africa these days one needs to be fully prepared to get violent back, so I always carry one.

Oh my! I didn’t realise

The one on the right looks like he has been smoking something, quite possibly mandrax. Perhaps it is time to get some Rhodesian Ridgebacks, if you don’t already own any that is.

He did strike me as being at a great altitude on something. Actually, I wish we still had a batch of Irish Wolfhounds. Nobody argues with those!

Hmmm. I LOVE having my picture taken. Guess that makes me one of the “good guys!”

Indeed. The ones I extract portraits from don’t seem to enjoy the process!

Maybe they’re just saying that… 😉

They seem pretty chuffed that you took their photo. I should also make a point of taking photos of unwanted visitors just as a safety measure

The only downside is that it draws attention to the fact that you have a camera!

The one on the right was definitely on the make…or take.

The one on the left was an equally undesirable character!

Hehehe! Does it really work? They seem like the kinds who might appreciate a few minutes of fame! 😀

Believe me, these were the sort of evil weevils who much prefer total anonymity!

There’s nothing I find aggravating more than uninvited visitors . . . most are nice enough, but that’s not the point. The point is people should not assume they have the right to disturb someone at home, and be gracious when told to fornicate off (but in nicer, if often still biting words).

Even more aggravating was that these gentlemen almost certainly had criminal intent.

Thanks for the idea… I will bring my camera when opening the door to unexpected visitors.

Dropping-in friends and relations will be startled!

My relations come from over 100 miles away so always let me know. I am thinking more of cold callers flogging stuff.

A shotgun works, too!

Far too many guns about these parts and folk with itchy fingers, for my liking. I’ll stick to shooting with the camera.

Yes, in our Blade Runner case, had Oscar used a camera a lot of drama and grief would have been avoided.

Yes, indeed!

Hmm, that’s about as controversial as I thought my comment might be.
Most of the ‘humanity’ pix for this challenge I’ve seen have been pix by white people (eg the original daily post one) of old and or non-white people. I find that really patronising. I guess we all interpret the word differently.
I like your take
They’re on the make
Ouch! Do stop emulating his terrible rhymes roughseas!

Oh; my rhymes you’ve started matching – do be careful, it is catching!
Strange how many have featured the elderly or darker races.
*wickedly* You’re saying they’re not human?

They are so awful, they are funny. As to whose are awful, I’ll leave that for you to decide.
Three fifths huh? It’s me. I’m being Ms Sensitive to Ark’s Mr.
To me (and I did double dictionary check) it means lots of people or a kind gesture. Not an old or racially different-looking person as though (your wicked suggested implication) yes, shock horror, these are people too. Anyway, with that I shall post my own take on it on my not-photo-blog 🙂

In my illustration, it is an unkind gesture – on both sides!

I don’t find it patronizing at all since these were the wonderful people I met doing NGO photography and blogging work. I was in a country where there were no white people except me. So they are the ones I happen to take photos of.

I think a lot of people interpreted the theme as indicating ethic diversity.

Yes me too. But it is open ended as there is a lot that can mean humanity. I came up with the idea for the theme based on my work and also the recent passing of 9/11 and all the insane wars and hatred going on. I wanted to show that although we can be different, we can be the same. Thanks for the comment back! 🙂
