Conan Doyle always gets credited for ‘The game is afoot!’ from the Sherlock Holmes story ‘The Adventure of the Abbey Grange’ (the only place it ever appears in the books), but actually a certain Mr William Shakespeare was way ahead of him in Henry IV.
