great take on the challenge – and loved the ending “booze cruise” shot –

Thanks!
That ship must have really powerful generators!

Of every type, indeed!

There’s poetry in those shots and a few ghost stories.

Eclipses, in particular, have attracted a lot of writing!

All big and lit up – no wonder moths get excited about the moon 🙂

Love those moon shots Col…..very evocative

I also find them so! And the actual process from a ‘strangeness’ as the shadow touched, right through to the re-emergence, was quite fascinating.

Perhaps the revellers on the vessel are re-enacting some primitive drinking ritual to ensure the moon’s re-emergence — it clearly worked!

The only teensy weensy fault in that logic is that the ship blazed away in 2009 and the moon hid its face in 2011 …

Lovely! The moon is one of night time’s divine goddesses.

I like the eclipse shots, maybe that is what they are having on the booze cruise! 😉

One wonders … 🙂

great shots. have always wanted to experience an eclipse. Must be mighty odd to suddenly find yourself in darkness

Nothing sudden about it. It creeps – and the light gets progressively creepier. One would think it would be the same as a part moon from full to new, but somehow it isn’t!

oh dear, my dream has gone belly-up then!

I love watching an eclipse. It’s something so simple but so amazing at the same time

It sends those without any knowledge of astronomy into total heebies – as beloved by fiction writers from H Rider Haggard on.

There should be more of those. They have a lot of black in them which saves computer energy!

Excellent eclipse shots, Col! The “drinking vessel” made me smile. I do miss seeing those ships from my window, now that we’re in Florida.
