Early Bird

This morning I did get up early enough to get the early birds. Can you spot all forty of them?

This morning I did get up early enough to get the early birds. Can you get all forty of them or do you get cross and crosseyed?

The early bird may get the worm,
But just remember that
The one the bird’s fate will confirm
Will be an early cat.

Perhaps the cat is hunted by
An owl hoo ’s earlier yet –
The earlier you get to try,
They luckier you get.

It shows the way to be well fed,
And really have a ball,
When time comes round for going to bed,
Is not to go at all.

  3. That’s a lot of early birds, Col. Loved your poem. It’s great fun, unless you’re a bird or even a cat. 🙂

    Fun poem, Col!
I only saw the bird on the top of the table at first, then I noticed the others just below it, and then I noticed all of the others on the ground! That photograph just kept giving!
