Now, the end of NaPoWriMo month, and well over thirty rhymes posted, has not cured me of scribbling them – particularly when miffed. This is inspired by xenophobia and the statues debacle – to be reverted to! – plus taking over an hour to get to the Country Club due to roads blocked off for ‘Workers’ doing their thing on the streets.
South Africans – well, some –
Given prospects of real work
Quite swiftly will become
Greatly predisposed to shirk.
They do like to be paid,
And regard it as their due –
Ask effort to be made?
Opposition will ensue.
And “Workers’ Day” these greet
As a chance to have some fun
By marching down the street,
Thus disrupting everyone.
Some workforces of ten,
Get but little progress made;
Nine stand and watch, while then
One, perhaps, may wield a spade.
However, should you ask
That they pillage and destroy,
They go about the task
With all evidence of joy.
These love to rip apart
Every object of the past,
And yet, they’ve yet to start
Their own heritage to last.
They have some petty kings
Who are really quite absurd;
When these say stupid things,
Many hang on every word.
When any enterprise
From the ‘foreigners’ they see
Such folk they then despise –
Eaten up with jealousy.
Yet, ‘foreigners’ they were
When they first came to this land,
If, to that, you refer,
They choose not to understand.
Hi Col… :-] (*lopsided smile, I’ve been absentee*) Can only agree with the poem, it boggles the mind. The path forward? (*shrug and sigh*)

If there is to be a path forward, methinks they are only likely to follow it if prodded in the posteriors with pitchforks.

We have folk like that here. they bring chaos and murder to our streets about the flying of flags, yet they have no idea of how to show respect for the very same flags!

One really wonders at your lot – surely they have had more than enough time to move out of the past and grow up.

The only thing they know how to say is NO! 😦

Looks like R is having Chico the Clown there. I used to love that in my younger years.
You’ve hit the nail on the head with your poem.

No, this is just following the birthday chorus act at Spur – not one of my favourite places, but the kids love it.
You have to experience it at first hand to know that I have been fairly mild in describing the ones whose thinking – or what passes for that – is on these lines.

Only if hers is about as low as you can go. He should be declared a National Disaster.

Thanks – I wish some of them would stop and actually THINK for a moment about how utterly stupid their behaviour has become.

Unfortunately so. I wish it was, at least, an exaggeration.
