In response to The Daily Post’s weekly photo challenge: “Off-Season.”
At first I couldn’t find any off-season scenes; then I found too many but am using all of them. They are all near-midwinter: three in UK from a while back, and one recent one in South Africa.
Fishing off-season on UK South Coast.
Calm seas but no takers.

Off-season for competitive swimming in South Africa, but just-turned-seven granddaughter R is still in training and is seen here seeming to give a high-five during a l Km swim.

You can be very proud of R 😉 It is amazing that the pools are still open.

You will hardly believe how warm it was yesterday and the day before. Today is a bit cooler with a gale.

Perfect pics for the challenge, Col. I think it would take more than a few degrees drop in temperature to deter your little swimming star. She’ll go far. 🙂

Knowing the south coast.. Swanage, Lulworth, Weymouth, Lyme Regis, Sidmouth, Branscombe and on to Pymouth etc, would love to know where the pics were taken..

As the temps are high here, I enjoy the thought of a chill in the air…somewhere! 🙂

Which is certainly what our current midwinter scene is NOT! Delightfully warm, but terribly dry.

Double Locks, was that in Exeter? I had to enlarge the last photo to see R’s hand.

Exeter it is. Interestingly, we have a very old photo of one of Much Better Half’s ancestors in the doorway of the pub there – and it still looks just the same. Of course, I took another picture, this time featuring her.
I keep forgetting detail doesn’t come out too well in blog-sized pics.

My eye situation was at fault and not your photo.
I bet Double Locks is a goldmine in summertime. I goodled it and had a virtual walk through the hotel and surroundings.

Did I mention said ancestor owned it? Wish he’d left it to her side of the family!

No, but I had a feeling there was a family connection. My mind works like that sometimes.

I believe you have quite nice weather at the moment?

Superb! Just like summer, for the last two days, only not as muggy. Ideal swimming and outdoor weather.

I love that first photo. It reminds me of home in Nova Scotia.
