In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Door.”
Previous home sliding doors
Previous home sea view from doorway.
New home folding doors (the whole front opens but for one break where the white bit is).
New home sea view from doorway. OK, not nearly as spectacular, but – c’mon! – at least we can see it!
(And for something else not a door able, look here!)

I love those new folding doors Col! I do prefer them to the sliding doors. Looking better every day. That sure is a lot of hard work. 😀
It’s like you said – at least you can still see it. The folks in the cities are not as lucky. They have a view of the concrete jungle. 😀

I am really looking forward to being able to post a full set of ‘before’ and ‘after’ – as soon as the ‘after’ is complete!
Yes, I have never regretted moving to the coast, even though I had dire predictions it would kill my career.

That would be a cool post indeed. 😀
I would love to live near the coast and why did you think that?

I didn’t think it, but was told so repeatedly by my bosses and colleagues in Johannesburg.
As it turned out, I achieved bank manager rank before any of those colleagues.

Good for you Col and congrats! Sounds like it was a case of sour grapes then. 😀

When the house is sorted, you can concentrate on the garden and improving your view.

We are already working on the garden of the cottage part, and there is a pleasant view from the roof here. I must think about that …

Cut back a bit of the hedge to improve sea view; build a dolphin-spotting tower (similar to the game lookout posts in the game parks). 🙂 I’m still sad you had to sell the old place, it was incredible.

The view from the old home is spectacular.
At least you can still see the sea…I am half an hour from the nearest beach. Sob.

At least that is more than ten times better off than the Gauteng population!
