Some quick flashes of the activities of our family over the past week or so:

Professor Pieter Scholz winning R5000 for his short story ‘Silent Death’, at the recent Book Fair we exhibited at, which prize he donated to …
- … Dlinza Forest boardwalk, in Eshowe, KwaZulu Natal. He is passionate about its beauty. It is on our list!

The grandkids were a bit bored with plants and stuff, but enjoyed the Kids’ Zone where there were animals to pet … and this to sit on!

It is handy – in fact I left home on my bike at the same time as the car carrying the rest of the mob did, and got there first!

And now this evening there was a Gala at R’s school, where all comers in the various age groups were invited to try out against the Squad. Here J inserts herself into the picture as her sister prepares for her first start.

R made quite a splash! She successfully defended her squad position – no wannabes beat her – with a fourth in backstroke, third in breaststroke, and she looked as though she had won the freestyle – it was very close. Anyway, it turned out that she had to settle for a third place there as well. If that splashy dive of hers in the nearest lane had been a little bit better …!
Your grandchildren are adorable!

Of course, I am biased, but I certainly agree!

Nice place for biking and kite flying. It looks like the swimmers had to wait for darkness before diving in . . . that’s a long wait.

I thought that too. Loved the rhino. Would the family swap places? I’d love to sit on a rhino or fly a kite… beats work any day 😊

By the time one finishes working, one is in such a muddle that one might sit on the kite and try and fly the rhino!

Indeed; I should have posted some bridging shots between her first event start and her third event start!
