It is handy – in fact I left home on my bike at the same time as the car carrying the rest of the mob did, and got there first!

 

Gala Lineup plus J

And now this evening there was a Gala at R’s school, where all comers in the various age groups were invited to try out against the Squad. Here J inserts herself into the picture as her sister prepares for her first start.

Splash

R made quite a splash! She successfully defended her squad position – no wannabes beat her – with a  fourth in backstroke, third in breaststroke, and she looked as though she had won the freestyle – it was very close. Anyway, it turned out that she had to settle for a third place there as well. If that splashy dive of hers in the nearest lane had been a little bit better …!

    Nice place for biking and kite flying. It looks like the swimmers had to wait for darkness before diving in . . . that’s a long wait.
