In response to The Daily Post’s weekly photo challenge: “Careful.”
When J elects to climb this tree
She does it rather carefully;
And, no; although she’s rather small
I didn’t lift her there, at all!*
This land-crab is not much amused,
Be careful, or you’ll be abused –
With pincers, he’s a fellow who
Would love to come to grips with you!
You take a shot across from here,
What could there be for you to fear?
Be careful, mirror at far end
A selfie back to you will send!
At Clarens, the Titanic there
One goes aboard with greatest care:
The sinking feeling missteps give
Will last until you cease to live
heheee love the selfie Col!
i see you are feeling exceptionally poetic of late

The mirror is so cunningly situated it quite takes one by surprise!
Perhaps I need far more rehearsal
To learn to be more contra-verse-ial!

I wondered who the suspicious-looking geezer was who stared at me from the far end!
Thanks.

J is so cute! I should come down and help you unpack. & Bring the Konmarie book with me (which I’ll first have to retrieve from another friend, in Cape Town – 😀 there’s my holiday, sorted!)

That would be great – if you don’t mind pitching a tent on one of the piles of rubble that used to be a garden!

🙂 A love of shinning up trees is a bad habit picked up from examples from their doddering old grandfather!

Reallay enjoyed this one: perfect photos. lively rhymes.
How wonderful there are climbing trees like that – and J is allowed to climb them.

I would never have thought that there was a mirror.

It is really cunningly placed, and it comes as quite a shock when one realises why the person at the other end looks vaguely familiar.

Love your pics and your clever rhymes.
J is precious!!! Much cuter than the crabby crab.

The crab captivated young R (when about the same age as J now is) at the time – she wanted to stay with it and make friends!

Little J is quite the tomboy! 🙂 That’s rather a large crab. I’ll definitely be careful to steer clear of him. 😯

She is an active little soul!
The crab was rather a shock, leering at me from the middle of the path as far inland as the Free State. One thinks of them as sea creatures.

Great poeming. Your veranda’s looking good, too – I am envious. I do miss the capacious one we had at our last house.

Thanks! Alas, this picture is from a Garden of the Year entrant’s home. Our veranda is a far more modest and clutter-ly uttered affair.

shame. It would suit your life to have a big veranda

Oh well, the one we’ve got isn’t bad, and for the main house it is planned to have a heck of a deck.
