Transition is the current Daily Post Photo Challenge.
Our state of transition from one home to another has been protracted for over a year now while renovations have been undertaken. Meanwhile we all continue to live in the tiny cottage further down the property, which was only designed for a couple.
This is just one aspect, showing the front rotted wooden windows now replaced in the bedroom with larger aluminium ones, and in the lounge and area converted into a third bedroom with aluminium concertina doors.
I need to update my pictures – the brickwork is no longer showing after having been protected with damp-proof plaster to prevent the seepage into the foundations which was in evidence. Can’t do it in time, though – we are off to a notoriously Haunted Hotel for the weekend, returning Monday. So I will be out of touch for the weekend.
The happy part – it is in the foothills of the Drakensberg. The unhappy part – the weather forecast for the entire weekend is saturatingly soggy. Good for the draught conditions, anyway, even if we have to spend the entire time in our room being haunted at.
The house has an honest comfortable face. I like it. (lovely windows).
It never fail to rain when construction is being done.
Must hop over to see if you were haunted…

It has a lot going for it – I am longing to be able to post a comprehensive set of ‘after’ pictures. I have had quite enough of the ‘before’ and ‘during’ ones.

I hope you’ll show us the finished product, I’d love to see the “before” and “after” comparisons.
Enjoy your ghostly weekend!

My internet has been off for most of the day without even having any more excuse than a slight drizzle.

Sorry to hear that, Col. Thankfully the only interruption from the storm was my sleep. It was a noisy night.

You’ve done wonders, Col. I’ll come to you when I’m ready for a face lift. 🙂 I think your drought turned into a draught. 😕 Have a great soggy, haunted weekend.

C seems to do quite well at those himself!
The drought didn’t indeed seem much of a one up there, except when anyone opened a mouth to moan about it. They also suffer, inland.

Had a lovely weekend but the long-leggity creatures that go bump in the night seem to have been away on holiday somewhere.
