Really Awful Spare Rhyme

Spare

The Daily Post Photo Challenge for this week, needs a Spare moment spent on it.

De wheel on borrowed car was flat,

So in de trunk I sought de spare,

De jumper-leads dat place were at,

But, no, de spare just wasn’t dere!

Till someone said, ‘Your head is fat;

No need for tearing out your hair –

You’ll find it underneath the mat!’

And so de spare dispelled despair.

(The picture was taken very recently to assist a neighbour in selling her car – and, yes, on the photoshoot it did develop a flat tyre.
However, I do happen to know where spare wheels are normally found!
I truncated what we call the ‘boot’ of the car for the benefit of overseas visitors.)

    I know where my spare is, Col, but I haven’t the foggiest how to get it… in the boot would be my ideal place every time, under or on the mat – I’m easy!

    One of your best ones, Col — and therefore not as awful as you make out!

    Reminds me though of that awful kids joke (the joke’s awful, not necessarily the kids):
    History teacher Can you use the words ‘defence’, ‘defeat’ and ‘detail’ in the same sentence, please …
    Pupil “De horse jumped over de fence, first de feet and den de tail.”
    Dohh!
