The man works with timber in mint condition,
……….Seeking shape it will contain when comes the crunch;
…..Not play: his irascible disposition
…..He calms as he imitates a robin’s trill;
…..As the figure takes shape comes a rising thrill,
…..But strain takes its toll: a sin not to instill
……….All the qualities arising from his hunch –
But perfection’s there, in final rendition.
Well done especially giving it a rhyme as well with the ‘ion words.

I think it fits just perfectly – sometimes wordling is just like carpentry fitting the words like joints hoping they move effortlessly not exposing the toil underneath – or the splinters!

Thanks for the observation. As it happens, I have been doing some woodworking in the past couple of days, so the ‘timber’ set me off fully in that direction.
