Morning Mood

Morning of 7th AugMorning sea view

The Weekly Photo Challenge is Morning and here are two of mine – the other day, and the top one taken this morning.

Two of my favourite pieces of music relate to the morning – Grieg’s ‘Morning Mood’ from the Peer Gynt Suite, and Elgar’s exquisite Chanson de Matin. The latter in an orchestral version is on a double CD set full of delights that I bought at last week’s flea market.  As a result it is now very much in my mind, and I thought it apt to include a YouTube recording of it to go with the theme.

that’s a lovely piece and an impressive young man. Love the golden light in your sky.

He is amazingly talented, and evokes the moods of the music beautifully.
They were two spectacular dawns – of course, they were the harbingers of not-so-nice weather!

we often go to they symphony here, the city one and the university one. It is so nice to see young people with talent and dedication. I’m guessing, like us, this is your cooler time of year right now. We broke down and bought a gas heater last week!

It is encouraging to see young people in this era of canned entertainment who are prepared to put in the years of dedication which such skilled performance would require.
It has been cold – although I went for a brief and refreshing swim this morning – but we have efficient heating/cooling air conditioners in both dwellings.
