Condensing any given content is valuable to all writers, for preparing blurbs or a précis, or simply for chopping out unnecessary verbiage. Consider the already short form used for my latest Wordle attempt. It seemed to have come out pretty well with this length:
A busy class of creature
That goes on velvet toes,
Light steps, with curl-claws, feature,
From still, to oil-drop-flows;
In silvery moonlight mating cries
Go echoing through the bowl of night …
Could those who such a noise despise
Be jealous that they have this right?
(46 words)
A bit more effort, though, produced the following with the same twelve given words in the same order:
A busy class, on velvet toes,
Light-steps on curl-clawed paws, from still
To oil-drop silvery motion-flows;
Cries echoing the night-bowl fill;
Be jealous independence shows!

Over the years, I have participated in some Flash Fiction groups involving various lengths of story. I found one of the most challenging the Flash Fiction Fifty-Five, where the whole story, including heading, is told in fifty-five words on a given theme. They provide wonderful exercises for arranging and pruning words, and are also fun to read. I have looked to resuming with some group, but haven’t found any that appealed to me.
I would love to hone my writing skills, but am in the throes of editing a rather large fantasy novel (the first in a trilogy). That’s why (among other reasons) I’ve been a ghost around here of late. Should this effort of yours really get going, I’ll jump in when I can! Thanks!

“I’m the winner!” shouted Romulus (or was it Remus) as he leapt over the boundary ditch that Remus (or was it Romulus?) had made round his new city. “No, you’re not,” said the other crossly and knocked him dead. “The first shall be last. Or should I say … late?”

At 28 words, that Pal hasn’t given the full story!

For some reason my mind went blank and I did not notice the 55 word requirement.
I shall have another go ….

As I’m starting NaNoWriMo, I’ll probably not have time for new stuff. I’ve also found that while I enjoy flash fiction, I don’t enjoy it as much when it’s word-count limited.
But, I will be watching how you do.

“Was this your first time?”
“Yes. Was it . . . was it OK?”
“It was . . . different.”
“I’m sorry! I rushed, didn’t I?”
“No, it’s OK. Really!”
Leana threw away the rest of her latte as soon as she left the coffee shop. Luckily, the next Starbucks was only a block away.

Lovely! I wonder how many people would think latte before the end?
Of course, it is in extremely bad taste … 🙂

Why, whatever do you mean? Surely, I cannot be blamed for what lurks in people’s minds. As for bad taste . . .
Yeah . . . Starbucks can’t make a proper latte if their life depended on it. Sadly, most people are not all that discerning.

From my experience when I was in the US I’d say that Starbucks can’t make anything properly when it comes to coffee, for decent coffee one needs to live in Australia, preferably with a large Italian community; like I do, more top coffeeshops than you can poke a stick at!
