Wordle 274 is obviously slanted towards a certain recent event. I debated taking an entirely different tack in my condensed exact-word-order and rhyming effort, just to be otherwise, but decided to follow the current after all.
I am pleased with the double-meanings achieved in the last two lines.

Well, maybe there is one positive. Some Brits are sucking up to Don already.

What are Brits? I know English as I’m English, and am aware of the Scots the Irish and the Welsh, but not the Brits, which I think refers in some obscure, and insulting manner, to the inhabitants of the countries of Great Britain,
As you see I do take offence at the label. I take no offence at being called a Pom by my Australian chums/ mates.
That being dealt with I like the wordle thing, but I think you need to be careful, that last line might have the CIA & FBI putting you on their watch list as a possible ass……. and I don’t mean donkey type ass. 😀

First time I have ever known offence taken at the descriptor, even in it’s shortened form. There is nothing knicker-knotting about it, as far as I am aware. My family and that of my wife is of British stock. and that is the only accurate short way of describing the mixture of English, Scottish, Welsh, and Irish, which they comprise.
I think the CIA and FBI both are going to be quite well occupied with the countless millions using far stronger terms!

Thank you — as usual, for those who don’t like them the pain is of short duration. 🙂

OK.
Well, I shall be extremely happy if those sentiments prove to have been inaccurate. Not holding my breath, though.

I noticed this connection with the words as well, Col, but decided to go down my usual path of hope and happiness! I’m still impressed with how you can write these in so few words and convey an excellent meaning.

It seems that NOT following the obvious lead has become the norm — so I am the different one!
