This Bridge Should Have Been No Trump Contract
The USA must be a dump
To get a specimen like Trump
In presidential upward-bump —
Is everybody there a chump?
A mannerless habitual grump,
Quite oversize in tum and rump;
You’d think that both he and his frump
From voters would have got the hump.
Like dirty oil, someone should pump
Him all the way out of the sump;
Get him and all his friends to jump
Right overboard in one big lump!
One Promise Fulfilled Already.
Tonight, Americans
are going to their beds
All lulled with promises
as empty as their heads;
Though Donald John Drumpf
Has just scored at any rate —
For now in tri-umph,
He’s made America grate!
The next Drumkopf stunt
is what everyone now dreads.
Trump and Boris: Monty Python’s Flying Circus!

All debates, and political views aside, this is a fantastic poem! The best!

Well, it does make use of just about every possible true rhyming word!

I just love the way Mrs Clinton has been tried and convicted by so many, obviously they are in the know, they have all the evidence and are concealing it, biding their time before they can bring her to justice.
La La Land is not just the name of a new movie it seems.
What goes on inside their minds, are they completely controlled by the murdock media?

Are there minds for things to go on inside?

That’s a point, didn’t think of that.

Here’s what I know: Constitutional scholars say that the moment Trump was sworn into office, he was in violation of our Constitution because he hadn’t divested himself from all of his personal business holdings. Allowing his children to run HIS business is not the same thing as a “blind trust.” Our “hugely successful” businessman President should know this but either doesn’t or doesn’t care.
So, people can say what they will about Hilary Clinton and call her names (not very healing, by the way), but she never violated our founding documents.

Another blot on a copybook which must be becoming increasingly illegible – more blots than copy.

Hobson’s choice. Thank goodness there was a power failure in my area and I was spared the inauguration.

Hobson’s Coice. What a great movie/farce that was. Charles Laughton, John Mills & Brenda de Banzie.
Still ranks as the funniest movie I ever saw, back in 1956 at the Athenæum in Melbourne (founded 1839) the occasion being my parents 25th wedding anniversary

the 1st August 1956 to be precise.

Good grief, how can you pinpoint a date so way back?

I can tell you the 6 seats, we occupied if you like; which you can verify by checking the seating plan which I know is still available on the theatres site;

and naturally I was assigned the very worst seat of the six, stuck right behind a pillar!

You have a phenomenal memory — but maybe the pillar was the trigger!

No the words ‘Hobson’s Choice’ in Pussycats comment; and by the bye, I forgot to mention, that it was also the anniversary of my sisters 12th birthday.
Actually I didn’t really want to bore you with all the details. 🙂

Just what good happened in the past 8 years? Give people a chance before you criticize an entire country like that.

It is depressing to see such apparent lack of any ability to learn from experience.

Humanity today is far too divided. Plenty of folks are sad and scared and angry and there are sound bites being fed to us that seem fueled by judgement, fear and even hatred. I refuse to be baited into a way that will further harm an already hurting world, this is our home. And a house divided cannot stand.
If there is any hope for all of us to move forward, to heal and to grow – we have got to learn to engage people who are different from us with dignity and with love. I have personal convictions. One of them is this: I care about you for the simple fact that you are a person, my neighbor on planet earth. It’s not about what color your skin is, how much money you have in the bank, your political affiliation, sexual orientation, gender, nationality or faith. That’s all fascinating, but it cannot add or take away from the reality that I am already pulling for you. I am not about to get in the nasty business of throwing stones at any one, I don’t play that way.

These are laudable sentiments, indeed.
It must be understood, however, that the criticism levelled arises from deep disappointment that a nation held in such esteem and admiration in the past, despite all faults, now seems, according to all (though possibly biased) accounts, hell-bent on negative directions. Let’s face it, the world (and particularly the English-speaking part) has been heavily influenced for a very long time by everything that happens in the United States. For this reason, any perceived deterioration is taken more personally than would be the case with other countries of the world.

We have received NO respect for a number of years now (and I don’t just mean the past 8), for too many reasons to get into here. Believing in my country and concentrating on healing herself now, I believe is the proper move.

From the perspective of outside the country, I think far more respect has remained than you realise, right up to the present era. It is to be hoped that despite contrary indications it will now be restored and increased.

Thanks, but we sure haven’t felt any of that respect here inside the country.

Oh dear, bad luck, Col: those Trump trolls get everywhere. Possibly melouisef is more nuanced than she sounds, but …
Anyway, love the number of rhymes you fitted in here; if only there was some Cockney rhyming slang for the Donald — elephant dump possibly?

It amazes me that someone so personality-challenged should have so many admirers. Gone old grump?

So what do you want not that you had any say in the matter? Crooked Hillary? Get out of here. She is one of the most evil politicians on this planet….

Certainly not Trump. That it came to a choice between the two is a sad reflection on the American system. One longs for a leader worthy of admiration even if one disagrees with their policies.
