The Day Twenty-Two GloPoWriMo prompt: ‘In honor of Earth Day, I’d like to challenge you to write a georgic … Your Georgic could be a simple set of instructions on how to grow or care for something …’
For going green
An excellent scene
Is to go and take a bath …
Not to get clean,
For what you would mean
Is to place it, off the path,
Near kitchen door —
Getting dirty, more! —
For you’d fill it full of sand;
Compost galore
Mixed with that you’d store,
Prop it so that it will stand,
Then take some seed;
All the kinds you need;
And plant it under the ground,
Keep free of weed,
And soon you will feed
On the plants there will be found;
Lettuce does fine,
Carrots in a line,
It’s amazing maize will grow;
You can combine
Things on which to dine
More than I can ever show!
Enjoyed this one, Col. That lettuce looks very healthy

Somehow it has a zing to it which makes it far superior to anything store-bought.

In Afrikaans, dat hulle kom vanaf ‘n
‘bath’ plek is nie so sleg nie, maar andersom is dit ‘n ‘bad’ place!
