Bite in the Bark

Wordle 301 with given words taken in order and rhymed.

Breathe cold while snapped-off icicles melt to seep
Through bark like stones of overlapping ice;
Each limb this season will crack its place to keep,
Crimped, till grass and blue will make worth the price.

      I agree, and tried permutations like this originally. The trouble is that it was at the expense of regularity. This was the best I could come up with:

      Breathe cold while melting
      Snapped-off icicles seep
      Through bark like stones of overlapping ice;
      Each limb this season
      Will crack, its place to keep,
      Crimped, till grass and blue can make worth the price.

      Better, or does that just take it back to square one?
