Here in Order, but completely out of order, are the sorted trophies from an Easter Egg hunt. Enough to cause serious internal disorder, but they look attractive!
I have been kept in order just recently by being ordered to do lots of grandfatherly things. Like attending junior swimming school prizegiving, where R got the cup for Best Girl Swimmer as her last accolade there — she is now moving up to a more senior level.
Her young sister J joined the medal winners by doing her 100-metre swim, and got a silver badge.
Still on swimming, J and friend ordered me to take them to the local Olympic pool, even though the weather wasn’t exactly warm. This didn’t worry them; nor did the fact that they had the pool completely to themselves. The rest of a fairly large local population chickened out completely. Myself included.
Her proud grandparents also attended an ‘away’ netball fixture where R played four games. Here she is shooting one of her three goals.

😥 I never learnt how to swim, I can sink pretty well though.

Well, sinking is a good start. Then, all you have to do is pop your head up at regular intervals. Or yell for help after the style of the Latin races who use their hands a lot when talking — and you’d be swimming!

at my age I think I’ll give it a miss, but thanks for the suggestion and encouragement

Lovely that you can enjoy this my grandparents all lived too far away to regularly see our progress on sports and things.

Sad. Both sets missed out. Three generations living together is something I’m strongly in favour of.

Today’s grandchildren dish out orders that we would never have dared 🙂

American influence, no doubt. As King Edward VIII said, ‘The thing that impresses me the most about America is the way parents obey their children.’
