I tend to see most inland revenue departments as being filled with robber barons…who have been around since the days of Robin Hood !

Whereas we cry all the way to the bank, there are others that laugh their heads of at predicament. No matter how rich a country is there will always be those that cream it off the top.

One doesn’t mind paying fair taxes used well by the financial authorities. When they go to providing luxury for government officials while they skimp on what is spent on necessary things, then one gets annoyed.
