I was admitted to hospital this morning, and discharged this afternoon after a good snooze under anaesthetic.  Don’t I look pretty in that dress?

Then I trotted down the road with young R to her hour of swimming practice.

I enjoyed the hospital visit so much I am going to repeat the experience on Wednesday for a bit longer.

M still comes up to supper with us every evening to enjoy some hospitality at the main house.

Cassie still comes down on most mornings to play, and enjoy some hospitality at the cottage.

Here is a monkey moocher seeking hospitality — or at least a handout. Not exactly nervous: you can see how close he is to the toe of my shoe.

General (not) Hospital:

I am still very much involved with the editing and revision of copies of some earlier books for reprinting. I also did a snatch of a new play for one of my overseas writers, and will edit the rest as soon as it is completed.  Another book from overseas is also on the cards.

  1. You’re either sucking your gut in or had a gastrectomy, which is it ?

The identity bracelet gets you a welcome cocktail, usually a Daïquiri, at some resorts. But not in hospitals. A shame really.

Hospital gowns are a bit chilly. (Had one myself for a few days in July)

I love the thoughtfulness of giving one an identity bracelet should one emerge from the anasthetic with an acute attack of amnesia. Clearly though you haven’t — or have you? Anyway, hope you enjoyed your R&R and your brief modelling career.

One or two visits are OK, but I wouldn’t make it a habit . . . especially since they are open in the back.
